What I'm up to now:
Updated:9/6/2025
Work
- Bit of a career change up ahead! I'm winding down freelance work to get a sales/sales engineering job at a SaaS or tech company.
- Keen to put my sales, marketing and tech skills to work with a kickass team in a fast growing business.
- Drone business is going well, but I want to focus on experience in companies with rocket-ship growth.
- Optimising for experience.
Personal
- Just got back from month in Spain where I completed the re-build of my personal website (this website) and rewrote some blog posts. The migration from Wordpress took longer than expected, but it has already paid off!
- Learnt Figma in two days because I was getting frustrated "designing in code editor" and wanted to do those fancy texture-gradient designs.
- Here's a design I whipped up:
- Finishing converting my second van into a camper. I've installed the furniture and now need to upholster the mattress.
Stuff that excites me:
- Australia's connectivity issue is solved (thanks to Starlink). Unlocks huge opportunities in rural AUS; for people and machines who can now join the internet. I'm already seeing bunch of exciting new businesses be built in the bush.
- Companies are secretly leaving cloud platforms. I'm excited to see companies start rolling their own hardware (servers/VPS, VM, etc...).
- Hardware is the tech frontier again. Mood has shifted and it feels sexy to build things in the real world. Maybe software devs are scared AI is taking their job? My feed is filled with CRUD-monkeys who are learning robotics/hardware.
- Linux and bash scripting for everything.
